DANCE COOPERATIVE - EVES #6
EVE SHARING #6
We are back with a brand new series of Eve Sharings - performance evenings showcasing raw work from the artists of Dance Cooperative.
During the course of 2025 we will host 4 Eve Sharings with new pieces and freshly tapped ideas in all forms and formats.
In our upcoming edition we present: hell of the same by paolo de venecia gile + LOVERS REVENGE by Camilla Lind & Heva Vaupel
hell of the same
hell of the same by paolo de venecia gile is a work-in-progress performance that explores the friction between contemporary dance, experimental sound, and ritual-making. It is a rehearsal of presence and strategies—here in spirit, elsewhere in body—fabulating histories through movement and simple objects. Full of charged gestures, it merges pop aesthetics with traces of the occult in a playful, lowkey-seductive pastiche of a globalized dance archive turned qü3er collage. Inspired by a recent ancestral visit, the writings of Byung-Chul Han in "The Crisis of Narration", "The Disappearance of Rituals" and "Hyperculture" and an inexhaustible well of endless nights and days of hedonism and vulnerability. This experiment encircles and questions the myths we carry about selfhood and belonging, bringing their (im)possibilities into a spiral. Cool- headed choreography and heart-felt dance meets messy paranormal stuff on a summer's day.
paolo de venecia gile (b. 1994, they/them) is a Copenhagen-local, Filipino-Swedish artist working with dance and its kins. A Dance Cooperative member. Their degree from Scenekustskolen (2019) is supported by a background in nursing and digital technology. Recent collaborations, residencies & comissions include Filip Vest, Emilie Gregersen, Malik Nashad Sharpe, Mads Nørgaard, All, all, all and Rewild among others. Their own performance work simulates a choreographed psychosis - a densely layered response to the fractured intensity of hypercultural life.
LOVERS REVENGE
LOVERS REVENGE is a duo project by Camilla Lind and Heva Vaupel established in 2022. Seamlessly blending Lind’s background in choreography and performance and Vaupels background in experimental music, you never know what to expect from their energetic and genre-dysphoric live performances in which they seek to push the boundaries of what a concert entails. With a dramaturgical setlist, the audience will be taken through various doors of emotional stages. Lovers Revenge has a love for pop and punk and refuses to adhere to perfectionism. They devote themselves to the escalation of desire and the illogical space of dreaming. With hair whipping and wolf-howling they will ask you ‘’Do you wanna be my girlfriend?’’ underneath the full blown spectre of the rainbow. Currently they are working on their debut EP, due sometime in 2025 and this will be the first performance with songs from their coming EP combined with elements form their former shows.
Heva Vaupel (she/her) is a Copenhagen based musician and composer. A defining pillar of Heva’s work is the merging of the melancholic with the ecstatic and the beauty with the bleakness of the current state of the world. Drawing inspiration from a wide array of different sources, Heva often fuses elements from classical music with unexpected contemporary elements. Affiliated with Janushoved since 2016, Heva has since released music and played shows under a lot of varying aliases.
Camilla Lind (1989) is a Copenhagen based choreographer, interdisciplinary artist and vocalist. Investigating. the collision of performance, image, text and sculpture from a perspective of the feminine other and the economy of sex in late stage of capitalism. She juxtaposes the punk, the dreamy to create an ambiguous and intimate crash of spectacle of our time.
