Learn wheel throwing - Intensive evening course with Szabina Lócki
Explore the art of ceramics and learn how to use the throwing wheel to create and glaze your own pottery on this six-evening summer course.
Vesterbro Kulturhus presents a new and exciting opportunity. An intensive evening course in wheel throwing, offered in week 31.
Gain a solid grasp of turning by signing up for our intensive 5+1 evening course.
This hands-on course is designed for beginners who want to learn the basics of wheel throwing in a focused and supportive setting. Over five consecutive evenings and one follow-up evening, you’ll get a step-by-step introduction to working with clay on the wheel.
Starting with centring and shaping simple cylinders, you will then progress to trimming and adding details such as handles and spouts, as well as exploring both closed and open forms. After a bisque firing, you will glaze your pieces and prepare them for their final firing on the final evening.
No prior experience is required. The course is held in small groups, allowing for plenty of personal guidance and time to explore your creativity. By the end, you’ll have gained both technical skills and your own unique ceramic creations to take home.
Who can join?
The course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience who would like to improve their throwing technique.
