Sketchy Monday

We are an artistic community in Copenhagen, who gathers every monday evening.

Sketchy Monday is an open drawing community. We meet on Monday evenings at Valby Kulturhus's workshop floor - the 4th floor.

The event is open to the public and for free (and so it should always be).
Everybody is allowed at Sketchy Monday, regardless of their age, religious or political belief and gender orientation.

We like to make the space as welcoming as possible for our guests by serving free coffee and sharing snacks.

Sometimes we get to cut a deal with local bakeries that let us have their leftovers for the day.

We also share a wide array of materials, some have been bought thanks to a funding received back in 2016 from Valby Lokaludvalg, some have been donated by members of the community.

In Sketchy Monday nobody is teaching anybody, but everyone is welcome to seek feedback, tips, recommendations and help. Our community includes professional illustrators, graphic designers, painters and street artists as well as students, hobby artists and people that only draw once a week or every second week, but enjoy doing it in good company.

We often share an interest in art, graphic design, cinema, anime, tv series, video games and more. And these are often the topics over the Sketchy Monday table. It’s not just a place to draw and drink coffee, often it turns into a network space, where people meet peers and possible collaborators, or partners for future projects.
